Product Description

My Lovely Lace Fingerless Gloves were inspired by my love of vintage lace and desire to have a quick knit gift project!

I’ve always loved the elegance of fancy evening gloves that feature many pearl buttons running down the wrist and forearm. So chic and ladylike, but not wearable for every day.

I designed these with an opening at the back, so it could then be adorned with fancy beads or pretty buttons for the faux button closure. The bonus was that the first half of this project could be worked quickly and easily on straight needles before needing to switch to DPNs (which I tolerate, but aren’t my favorite, ha ha).

The lace pattern is a lovely double leaf lace that was the perfect number of stitches to achieve the all-over lace design. Limiting myself to one ball was also a fun challenge and a great way to attack my stash and make room for new yarns..

These photos taken by Meg Myers of Classic Elite yarns.

Errata on p.2: The abbreviations list should include sk2p (not s2kp). Sk2p = sl 1, k2tog, pass sl st over k2tog. The chart and written part of chart are correct as is.

Posted by Lisa Wells on 23rd Mar 2015

I enjoyed this pattern so much. I am fairly new to knitting, and I was able to knit these. I made them for a friend, along with a leaf pattern for a hat and a leaf patterned scarf! They were a hit! She emailed me and told me she loves them! Thank you for your beautiful patterns, your blog and website are awesome!

Posted by Terri Lester on 27th Jan 2014

The lacy pattern and the button details are a great addition to this pattern. It's working up nicely and without any design issues (that would be me understanding the pattern!!!) I love it so far!

  8. Nice wristers, but

Posted by Laura Baxter on 5th Jan 2014

I knit up this pair according to the directions and they were a bit tight on my hands, I was going to take them apart, but my 15 year old granddaughter decided she wanted them. so I knit up another pair, but this time I left 4 stitches of garder stitch at each end, that little bit made them perfect, and I love the pattern.

  9. beautiful pattern

can't wait to start on gloves-will probably have a 5 star rating when I finish them

  10. Great pattern - minimal work w/ dpn's

Posted by Laura Figgie on 9th Sep 2013

I, like you, really dislike using dpn's in my knitting. Always work w/ circular needles whether pattern call for working in the round or working flat - just pull stitches to end of pattern, turn, and continue for flat knitting. Taught both knitting and crochet for many years and taught all my students the 'wonder' of circular needles.........they seemed to catch on quickly and were glad to get rid of long (poke you in the eye) straight needles....But I digress; this pattern is fairly effortless (even for beginners) and knits up quickly and beautifully; only took me 2 hours for both gloves and minimal yarn yardage! Hooray, Sweater Babe!
