Ribbed bottom band for great fit. AND this pattern only uses ONE SKEIN (actually, one hank) of yarn! It's also a quick and seamless knit on size 10.5 double-pointed needles.

Gauge(s):
Pattern Gauge: Widest part of 14-st braided cable = 2 3/8" [6 cm] in width and 20 rows/rounds = 4" [10 cm] in Braided Cable Stitch on size 10 ½ [6.5 mm] needles.
Yarn Label Gauge and Information: A bulky weight yarn with a gauge of 3 - 3.75 sts = 1" on US size 10 - 11 needles..

I made this hat for my 14 year old granddaughter's birthday. She loves hats and was pleased with this addition to her wardrobe. She looks forward to wearing it often this winter.

This pattern is a great knit. I am going to make another one in Knit Picks Swish black yarn. It will be for my son who is in the U S Navy and it has to be wool.
