Product Description

Little sleeveless sweaters are easy staples in any wardrobe, especially when they are so effortless. The Emme hits just below the waist and has deep armholes, making it wonderfully versatile. Wear it under a jacket, cardigan, or blazer, or layer it over a blouse or long-sleeve tee as a vest.

Emme is seamlessly knit from the bottom up in the round. After a thin ribbed hem, a lace border is worked on the front and back, featuring pretty columns of lace motifs that echo each other and taper as you work upwards.

At the armholes, the front and back are completed separately, with armhole, neckline, and shoulder shaping. Then, the shoulders are joined using the 3-needle bind off method.

Armholes and the neckline are finished with neat ribbed edgings.

The sample shown here is knit in a lovely linen and alpaca blend that gives the sweater a delicate, yet rustic appeal. Easily substitute another soft fingering-weight that will allow the lace stitch definition to come through.

The sweater is knit to a slightly cropped length, but can be easily lengthened by knitting extra rounds before the armhole split. Lace is both charted and written out.
