Vintage details and a modern silhouette make this girly cardigan a great new project to cast on.
Body is knit from the bottom up, with a high, ribbed bottom border and knit-in pockets. Then, a lovely and easy lace pattern in introduced, which only consists of yarnovers and basic decrease techniques in a very repetitive design.
Fronts and back are split at the underarm and completed to the shoulders separately with neckline shaping and short rows for shoulder shaping. Shoulders are joined using a 3-needle bind off.
Blousy sleeves are then picked up and knit in the same lace stitch pattern down to the gathered cuffs. The neckline is finished with a folded-over, ribbed collar.
Knits up beautifully in a dk-weight yarn. Shown here in a heathered grey wool and alpaca mix with lots of softness and stitch definition.
Easy-to-learn lace is both charted and written out.
