I love a quick, knit-it-up-in-a-weekend kind of project, especially when the results are this lovely and instantly wearable!
This fairly simple, but very visually pleasing, leaf lace stitch marries beautifully with just one hank of Malabrigo Worsted to produce a cowl that you will easily knit again and again.
The almost-theraputic nature of knitting with Malabrigo yarn is certainly a great thing, as are the gorgeous kettle-dyed colorways. The cowl shown here is in Orchid, a beautiful pink with lilac tones.
A few hours here and a few hours there working this easy-to-learn stitch, plus one joining seam, and you'll have this pretty cowl to throw on or give away. The stitch pattern produces curved edges and lines that make this a truly feminine accessory.

Finished Knit Measurements: 12 ¼" [31 cm] x 24 ½" [62 cm] around.
Skill Level: /
Yarn Used: Malabrigo Yarns Merino Worsted (100% Merino Wool; 3.5 oz/100g [210 yds/192 m] per hank): 1 hank in Color #034 Orchid. NOTE: The Cowl uses almost all of the hank, so be sure to match the gauge. Even though the name of the yarn says "Worsted," I consider Malabrigo Worsted more of an Aran, almost bulky weight. Please keep this in mind if choosing a different yarn for this.
Gauge(s):
Pattern Gauge: 18 sts = 4" [10 cm] and 16 rows = 3 ½" [9 cm] in Curved Leaf Lace (blocked).
Yarn Label Gauge and Information: An Aran weight merino wool yarn with a gauge of 4-5 sts = 1" [2.5 cm] on size 7-9 [4.5 – 5.5 mm] needles.
Total Yardage Required: 210 yds [192 m].

Works up easily, and looks like it took a lot of time. It made a wonderful gift!

I used size 10 needles, about 75 grams Poems Silk variegated yarn (75% wool, 25% silk) and a row counter. After the first 16 rows were complete the pattern became easy to follow. I like having both the written and diagram instructions and used both. I continued 6 full pattern repeats. The cowl is 11 x 19 before seaming. It is beautiful and warm. Two repeats of the pattern on size 10 needles would produce a beautiful scarf.

I love this Cowl!
The pattern is very easy to follow; it's very pretty and it knits up really well. I am knitting it for my daughter for a Christmas gift.

This is an easy to follow leaf pattern. Some lace leaf patterns are hard to follow. Looks great.

I used Malabrigo Rios and although not a true worsted it looks lovely. It drapes a little more than the photo so I would like to try it again with a worsted weight. It was a fun knit! Another great pattern. As always instructions are clear and well written.
