What could be more satisfying than turning a brilliantly colorful and vibrant hank of hand-dyed yarn into a sumptuously cabled hat to adorn a baby, child, or adult!
The very wide braided cable is simple to do and creates a very touchable cable with lots of depth and textural interest. Thick ribbed band, and minimal Reverse Stockinette stitch background complete the design and allow the Wide Cable and yarn to show to their best advantage.
This is a classic hat, but made very modern with a stunning color and bold pattern statement.
The pattern includes three sizes, so you can outfit an entire family! AND, each hat uses less than one hank of the deliciously wonderful Malabrigo Worsted yarn! This is one of those patterns you'll be tempted to make again and again.

At first the instructions were daunting. But, after reading them over a couple of times; I discovered they were simply more compact than most instructions I've dealt with. This hat will be for a grandniece and she will love it! Thanks for your design creativity.

This was a very quick knit and the pattern was easy to follow. I made the medium size with a thick and thin yarn. I love it.

I made this hat for my 8 year old granddaughter. Do hope that she loves it as much as I do.

I haven't knit this hat yet but I just went through my stash and picked out the yarn. I've read through the pattern and, just like all of Katherine's patterns, it's well written and easy to understand. I have so many of the SweaterBabe patterns and they are all on my list of most favorite patterns. I especially like the baby and children patterns. They are so cute, as well as fast and easy knits. Great for baby showers. You can't go wrong with SweaterBabe!
