Product Description

What could be better than a pretty little cardigan that will grow with the little girl who wears it?!

This cardigan is just the ticket! Its versatile A-line shape and top-down design will make it easily fit a child for longer than you'd think.

It features a nice garter stitch collar, and garter stitch front knit-in bands. Twisted stitch heart motifs run down the fronts, the largest embellishing the knit-in pockets that are great for little girls' treasures.

A simple, but very pretty lace panel adds interest to the back.

And since this is knit from the top-down, the length and sleeves can easily be adjusted.

AND, it's knit in Malabrigo Merino Worsted, a wonderfully soft yarn that is a joy to work with and comes in fabulous hand-dyed colors.

  1. Three Flavor Delight

Posted by Iris on 1st Jan 2014

I was so taken by the design I failed to notice the 10-1/2 needle size. While the sweater is adorable, the needle size used for a worsted weight yarn is awful....very loose. 10-1/2 needles? What was the designer thinking? Very disappointing.

RESPONSE from SweaterBabe: Hi Iris, sorry, but if you are able to use the yarn in the pattern, you will see that the Malabrigo Worsted is actually quite nice with the 10 1/2 needles. Malabrigo Worsted is a single-plied yarn that can be worked with a wide range of needle sizes. I did amend the yarn substitution information to recommend an Aran/heavy worsted in order to have a successful substitution. Sorry that the name of the yarn was causing issues.

  2. creative,feminine sweater for a young girl

Posted by Sharron on 17th Nov 2013

I think I'm a bit old fashioned. I find that many patterns don't show the girly soft side.
Not do with this pattern!! This is so feminine!
I used a soft white with a shimmer running through it. I can't wait to see my granddaughter wear it!
I look forward to knitting more patterns from this designer.

  3. Good pattern

Although I haven't quite finished knitting this sweater, I found the patterns to be challenging but very knitable for someone who has not used this type of construction before. Thanks for this pattern.

  4. Adorable girls jacket

pattern seems easy to follow and has MANY sizes. Beautiful detail, so you won't get bored doing just stockinette stitch.
