One-ball, big needles, and a few evenings can produce this great knit hat! It's knit in Classic Elite Montera, a long-standing favorite yarn of mine. Choose or find one stashed hank in a vibrant shade to liven up your cold weather wardrobe.
The hat is knit entirely in the round from the bottom up starting with a bold ribbed fold over cuff. The rest of the hat is knit in a simple textured stitch pattern that resembles a cable, but is made with simple decreases and lifted increases. The top of the crown is shaped for a nice fit. This is a great gift knit for both the males and females on your list!

I enjoy knitting the hats from SweaterBabe, I enjoy the differences and the ease they go together.
The best part is wearing them, so do my family!!

This whipped up in a matter of hours. I plan to try it in a worsted weight yarn and break it down for a child.

I knitted this hat for my adult son who is going skiing in Japan. I choose a 'masculine' colour. It knitted up really quickly and the sizing was great. I gave it to my son last weekend and he loved it! I would also knit it for myself in a more feminine colour. Thanks for the great pattern it really is a pattern suitable for both sexes.

Made this hat for relatives in Iowa and Texas as Christmas gifts. They loved the hats! They both liked that ribbing can be pulled down or flipped up depending on how cold it is.
