Sometimes, a lace stitch can be so amazing that it inspires an entire design!
Dramatic, bold lace panels are the main elements that define this gorgeous top-down design. Feminine detailing adds to the beauty and keeps the cardigan versatile and very flattering. The back and sleeves are first knit from the top down, with shaping at the waist to ensure a fitted silhouette.
The sleeves end at a chic ¾-length with a lace border. The slight fullness of the sleeves gives the cardigan a kimono-like air and makes this an easy layering piece over tunics, as well as your slim-fitting tops.
The fronts are then picked up and knit sideways, with decreases to create their tapered shape. They can be wrapped sexily around your waist, creating a lovely lacy v-neck, pinned creatively, or left open to drape.
Snaps can be added as fasteners or a decorative shawl pin can be used as a beautiful closure.

It's the first time I have ever knitted from the neck down and I loved the pattern. Nice for our uk weather.

When I first downloaded this pattern, the first thing I thought was 'hmm, M-1 Right and M-1 Left. I had to you tube a lot of these new stiches, I concern myself intermediate knitter. Once I studied, it is coming out great. I loved learning my stiches and I'm spoiled with Sweater Babe patterns. I'm used to the style of reading...made other patterns challenging. TY, SB, I'm so excited and cannot wait to finish. Waiting for delivery of yarn!

I have not made it yet, however, in looking through the pattern, I am very impressed--it will print well, is very detailed, & even has a chart to keep track of the lace pattern by row. I always make my own similar charts so I know where I am. I have been wanting this pattern, so when I downloaded the gift of the free Little Lace Vest, I was inspired to buy this one. It's flat-out gorgeous. Thanks!
