The softness of Malabrigo Merino Worsted yarns just lends itself beautifully to cables and simple shapes that allow the hand-dyed colors to present themselves.
This blanket features a glorious cable design that is challenging, but so well worth the effort! Wide garter stitch borders and stockinette stitch panels provide a nice contrast to the intricate cable work and give the blanket a finished look.
Make the smaller baby blanket size or go for the larger throw size. Either one will be a treasured piece to showcase this fabulous yarn as well as your knitting talents (and patience)!

I haven't made it yet (too many WIP) but I did read the directions. I've made cabled items so don't feel this one will be a problem. Had been looking for a cabled baby/laprobe for awhile and this was perfect.

Love the unique cable pattern in this project! I absolutely would suggest that you do a test swatch of the cable stitch segment to get used to the terms and nature of this cable. A few times I was had doubts when reading the pattern, but quickly learned to trust the instructions. Looking forward to using this pattern many times in the future!

This has been a fun and beautiful baby blanket to work on! I can't wait for the new momma to see it! I like this pattern because (if you know cabling well) it's different enough to keep you on your toes, but not so complicated that it makes you want to pull your hair out!

This is indeed a challenging pattern, and I've had to take back several rows, but it's really interesting to knit. I love that it includes both the chart and written instructions. I wish the pattern had an empty line under each line of written instructions - just to let me position my marker easier, but that's my only critisism.
