Knitting Patterns:
#70 lush and lacy cardigan (corrected 10/5/09):
NOT AN ERROR, but an easier-to-understand
instruction for Page 8: SHAPE SLEEVE CAP, end
of 1st paragraph (just after the last comma) and
next sentence. Replace it with:
". . .then dec 1 st at each end on every
3rd row 3 times = 25 (27, 27, 29, 31) sts.
Work even for 4 rows."
#100 little
lace vest (corrected 8/16/09):
In the paragraph on page 4, right after Row 8:
the reference to the Lace Pattern is on page 2,
NOT page 3.
#94 cables
and flowers top-down cardigan (corrected 8/10/09):
On page 7, for the sleeve cuffs worked in
the ROUND, Rounds 2 and 6 should read like below
(only the red parts
were changed) and a note was added. The original
instructions were not WRONG, but the Cuff will
match the Border exactly if done this way:
PLEASE NOTE: Because you are working in
the ROUND, the Cable Twist will be done on the
RS of work (vs. the rest of the Cardigan, where
the Cable Twists were on the WS), so follow these
specific directions carefully as written.
Round 2 [RS - Add 2 markers]: P0 (1, 1,
0, 1, 1), [k1, p1] 1 (1, 1, 2, 2, 2) times, pm,
[work Row 2 of Ribbed
Cable over next 18 sts] 6 times, pm, [p1, k1]
1 (1, 1, 2, 2, 2), p0 (1, 1, 0, 1, 1).
Rounds 3 though 5: Rep Round 2.
Round 6 [RS - Cable Twist]: Rib to 1st
marker, sm, [k1, sl next
4 sts on to cn and hold in FRONT of work, p1,
k2, p1, (p1, k2, p1) from cn, sl 4 sts on to cn
and hold in BACK of work, p1, k2, p1, (p1, k2,
p1) from cn, k1] 6 times, sm, rib to end.
#94 cables
and flowers top-down cardigan (corrected 8/1/09):
On page 7, for the sleeve cuffs worked in
ROWS, Rows 5 though 18 should read like this (instructions
were 1 Row off, Cables Twists will be on the RS):
Row 5: Rep Row 3.
Row 6 [WS - Cable Twist]: Rib to 1st marker,
sm, [p1, sl next 4 sts on to cn and hold in BACK
of work, k1, p2, k1, (k1, p2, k1) from cn, sl
4 sts on to cn and hold in FRONT of work, k1,
p2, k1, (k1, p2, k1) from cn, p1] 6 times, sm,
rib to end.
ODD Rows 7, 9, 11, and 13: Rep Row 3.
EVEN Rows 8, 10, 12, and 14: Rep Row 2.
Row 16 [WS - Cable Twist]: Rep Row 6.
Rows 17 and 18: Rep Rows 3 and 2 once.
#95 falling leaves pull-through scarf (corrected
7/21/09):
On page 5: Rows 135 through 146 should instead
read:
Row 135: Knit.
Rows 136 through 146: Rep Rows 8 through
18 = 19 sts.
#64 romantic
cable and lace vest (corrected 7/13/09):
On page 4, 2nd paragraph, the stitches right before
the stitch marker said "p2", but it
should be "p3". See red below:
Row 80 (RS - Dec for Armhole AND begin Lace
Patt): P2tog, p2, C4F, p3,
place st marker, work Row 1 of Lace Patt over
next 36 (44) sts, place st marker, p3, C4B, p2,
p2tog = 60 (69) sts
#94 cables
and flowers top-down cardigan (corrected 6/8/09):
Page 8, top: The Row numbers starting at Row
45 (under "Joining Remaining Sections
for the Body") are missing the Row numbers
for the larger sizes. It should read Row 45 (47,
49, 51, 53, 55) instead of just Row 45. And the
same throughout the remaining pages of the pattern
(just +2 rows for each larger size). The schematic
was also missing a few measurements for the larger
sizes.
ALSO a clarification on page 9: Row 90 (92,
94, 96, 98, 100) [RS - Inc 4]: [Work to 1
st before next side marker,
i.e. Color B marker, p-inc, sm, p-inc]
2 times, work even to end = 154 (170, 186, 202,
218, 234) sts.
Download
a new schematic here.
#74 top-down
long lacy cardigan (corrected 3/23/09):
Page 6, bottom: The Row numbers starting at
Row 36 (for the body) are missing the Row numbers
for the larger sizes. It should read Row 36 (36,
38, 40, 42) instead of just Row 36. And the same
throughout the remaining pages of the pattern.
The buttonholes placement rows are correct as
is.
#77 vine
lace top-down cardigan (corrected 12/17/08):
Page 8, very bottom: The st count after all
the increasing to shape to hip width should be:
116 (128, 136, 144, 156) sts.
Page 9: This st count change changes the
next instruction to this:
Change to Ribbing for Bottom Border:
Next Row [RS]: K7, *p2, k2; rep from * to
last 9 sts, p2, k7.
#90 chic cables and lace cowl neck sweater (corrected
12/5/08):
Page 4: Round 1 of the pattern should be following
Round 7 of the Braided Cable (not Round 6). So,
Round 2 of the pattern should be following Round
8 of the Braided Cable, etc.:
Round 1 [RS]: Join in the round with a st marker
to mark end of Round, [p6 (6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8),
Work Round 1 of Braided Cable over next 14 sts,
p6 (6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8), Work Round
7 of Braided Cable over next 14 sts] 3
times.
Round 2: [P6 (6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8), Work Round 2
of Braided Cable over next 14 sts, p6 (6, 6, 7,
7, 8, 8), Work Round 8 of
Braided Cable over next 14 sts] 3 times.
The NOTE on Page 4 has the same typo, see the
Red part below:
NOTE: The Braided Cable Panel only has Cable Twists
on Rounds 5 and 11. The 1st, 3rd, and 5th Cables
Panels of the Cowl Neck will begin with the Round
1 of the stitch pattern; whereas the 2nd, 4th,
and 6th Cable Panels will begin with the Round
7 of the stitch pattern. This will stagger
adjacent Cable Panels for a more interesting effect.
All non-Cable Twist Rounds are the same, keeping
the stitch pattern relatively simple to follow.
#78 two skein vine lace hat (corrected 10/19/08):
Page 2: Rows 10 and 12 were incorrect at the
end. They should read:
Row 10 [RS]: K2, work Row 2 of Vine Lace
to last st, k1.
Row 12: K2, work next Row 4 of Vine Lace to
last st, k1.
#90 chic cables and lace cowl neck sweater
(corrected 10/8/08):
Page 2:The yarn materials and yardage information
were incorrect. The number of balls is correct
and the yarn is correct, just the yarn information
was wrong. Correct information is on the pattern
page.
#77 vine lace top-down cardigan (corrected 9/25/08):
Page 9, COLLAR instructions: the stitch counts
for Med and Large are missing 2 from the end of
Row 10 to the end.
#81 peplum waist top-down cardigan (corrected
8/11/08):
Page 8, Under Peplum Shaping:, the following
Row added 8 sts, but the addition to the st count
was left out.
Row 77 (79, 79, 81, 83, 85, 87) or Next Row [WS
- Inc 8]: K8, Mock Cable Rib bet red markers,
[p to next blue marker, sm, k2, (p1, k1, p1) all
in next st, k2, sm] 4 times, p to next red marker,
Mock Cable Rib bet red markers, k8 = 128
(144, 160, 176, 192, 208, 224) sts.
THEN, all subsequent st counts are missing
these 8 sts.
#83 luscious lace scarf (corrected 7/28/08):
Pages 4 and 5, Row Chart, Cable twists are incorrectly
marked after Row 34. They should be every 6 rows.
#81 peplum waist top-down cardigan (corrected
7/6/08):
Page 7, Under Lace Cuff: Next Row [WS]
instructions: Instead of "over 50 sts",
it should read "over 50 (50, 50, 58, 58,
66, 66) sts".
#77 vine lace top-down cardigan (corrected 6/02/08):
Page 9, COLLAR instructions: Instead of "Rep
Row 4," it should say "Rep Row 2."
and the stitch counts for X-Large and XX-Large
sizes are missing 2 from the end of Row 10 to
the end. At the end of Row 10 there should be
86 sts, at the end of Row 12, 88 sts, etc. and
92 sts after Row 18.
#77 vine lace top-down cardigan (corrected
4/11/08):
Page 4, end of Row 6 (for ALL SIZES), the final
"k5" should be "k2, yo, skp, k1"
to create
the button hole at the end of the Row 6.
#74 top-down long lacy cardigan (corrected
4/6/08):
Page 6, under "Divide for RIGHT SLEEVE,"
part in red was missing:
Returning to unworked sts on needle (RS): K48
(54, 59, 63, 68) (These sts will be for the BACK),
k32 (33, 34, 35, 36) (for the RIGHT SLEEVE), cast
on 2 sts, TURN, leaving rem sts unworked
on needle.
#73 Women's Top-Down Short-Sleeved Cardigan
and
#72 Child's Top-Down Short-Sleeved Cardigan
(corrected 1/13/08):
Page 6 (for #73) and page 7 (for #72): Under "Divide
for RIGHT SLEEVE,"
parts in red were missing:
Returning to unworked sts on needle (RS): K48
(54, 59, 63, 68) (These sts will be for the BACK),
sl marker, k32 (33,
34, 35, 36) (for the RIGHT SLEEVE), drop
marker, cast on 2 sts, TURN, leaving rem
sts unworked on needle.
#71 intricately
cabled long vest (corrected 1/11/08):
Page 7: Row 59 should say:
Row 59: K6 (8, 10, 12, 14), SIDE CABLE
PANEL, k3, p2, k4, p2, k3, SIDE CABLE PANEL, k6
(8, 10, 12, 14).
#64 romantic cable and lace vest (corrected
12/18/07):
Page 2: The Gauge should be 16 sts and 22 rows
= 4". The corrected schematic is:
#70 lush and lacy cardigan (corrected 11/22/07):
Page 6: Under RIGHT FRONT:
Minor typo: It should say "Begin Knitting
Right Front:", not "Left"
and on page 9, under FINISHING:
(The Left Front Button Band and Right Front Button
Band instructions were flipped. The corrected
text is below:)
LEFT FRONT BUTTON BAND:
With RS of work facing you, pick up 75 (77, 79,
81, 83) sts evenly along the LEFT FRONT edge,
beginning at the top edge where neck shaping begins
and ending at the bottom edge. This is approximately
3 sts for every 4 rows along the edge.
Establish "1x1" ribbing:
Row 1 (WS): P1, *k1, p1; rep from * to end.
Row 2 (RS): K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end.
Rows 3 to 7: Rep Rows 1 and 2 twice, then rep
Row 1 one more time.
Bind off all sts in ribbing.
RIGHT FRONT BUTTON BAND:
With RS of work facing you, pick up 75 (77, 79,
81, 83) sts evenly along the RIGHT FRONT edge,
beginning at the bottom edge and ending at the
top edge where neck shaping begins.
Bind off all sts in ribbing, but do not cut yarn.
Leave last loop on needle to be used as the first
st for the picked up neckband.
#69 cables and lace kimono wrap cardigan (corrected
9/19/7):
Page 5 for the BACK (words in Red
were added to clarify) under the Continue to
Shoulder section:
AT THE SAME TIME, mark the edge stitches
on Row 76 (or at 12"
[30.5 cm] from bottom edge) to mark
armholes. Note the exact
Row number so you can mark the same Row for the
FRONT pieces.
and similarly for the LEFT FRONT and RIGHT FRONT
(pages 6 and 7), right before the Continue
to Shoulder sections:
AT THE SAME TIME, mark the edge stitches
on Row 76 (or the same
Row you marked for the BACK) to mark
armholes.
#70 lush and lacy cardigan (corrected 8/20/7):
Pages 4, 6, and 8: The first 4 Rows for LEFT FRONT,
RIGHT FRONT, and SLEEVE:
Work in 1x1 ribbing as follows:
Row 1 (WS): *P1, k1; rep from * to end.
Rows 2 to 4: Rep Row 1.
#70 lush and lacy cardigan (corrected 8/19/7):
Approximate total yardage required was miscalculated
(too high). The corrected yardages:
738 (861, 861, 984, 984) yds [672 (784, 784, 896,
896) m].
#64 romantic cable and lace vest (corrected
3/7/7):
page 4, in the instructions for the FRONT:
The st count at the end of Rows 80 and 82 (and
subsequent Even-Numbered Rows that include the
lace pattern) were off because the lace pattern
temporarily adds sts, which are then decreased
on the following WS row.
So, the corrected should read (the parts in
red were added/changed):
"Row 80 (RS - Dec for Armhole AND begin
Lace Patt): P2tog, p2, C4F, p2, place st marker,
work Row 1 of Lace Patt over next 36 (44) sts,
place st marker, p3, C4B, p2, p2tog = 60
(69) sts (Important Note: The Lace Patt
caused you to have 4 (5) EXTRA sts from this RS
row, which will then be decreased during the next
WS row, which is why the actual st count here
is more than for Row 79 despite the Dec for Armhole.)
Row 81: K3, p4, k3, work Row 2 of Lace
Patt between st markers, k3, p4, k3 = 56 (64)
sts.
Row 82 (RS - Dec for Armhole): P2tog, p1,
k4, p3, work Row 3 of Lace Patt between st markers,
p3, k4, p1, p2tog = 58 (67)
sts (Important Note: Again, the Lace Patt
caused you to have 4 (5) EXTRA sts from this RS
row, which will then be decreased during the next
WS row, which is why the actual st count
here is more than for Row 81 despite the Dec for
Armhole.)"
#57 cable baby beanie (corrected 11/9/6):
page 4, in the instructions for Size LARGE only:
Stitch count at the end of Row 36 is 36 sts. Then, the
remaining rows are as follows:
FOR SIZE LARGE ONLY:
Row 37: P4, *k1, p2, k1, p4; rep from *
2 times, k1, p2, k1, p4.
Row 38 (Decrease Row): K2, k2tog, *p1,
k2, p1, skp, k2tog; rep from * 2 times, p1, k2,
p1, skp, k2 = 28 sts.
Row 39: P3, *k1, p2; rep from * 7 times,
p1.
Row 40 (Decrease Row): K1, k2tog, *p1,
k2tog, p1, k2; rep from * 2 times, p1, k2tog,
p1, skp, k1 = 22 sts.
#38 fabulous lace inset cardigan (corrected
10/4/6):
page 5, in the instructions for the RIGHT FRONT,
at the end of that section:
"AT THE SAME TIME, create Button Holes
on Rows 6, 20, 34, 48, and 62 as follows: Beg
these rows with (k3, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k2)
instead of k6."
should read (changes in red):
"AT THE SAME TIME, create Button Holes
on Rows 6, 20, 34, 48, and 62 as follows: Beg
these rows with (k3, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k1)
instead of k6."
#36 mohair lace bolero (corrected 7/19/6):
page 2, in the instructions for the BACK:
"Rows 13 to 16: Knit."
should read:
"Rows 15 to 18:
Knit."
#57 cable baby beanie (corrected 8/29/6):
page 3, in the instructions for Size X-SMALL only:
"Row 32 (Cable Twist and Decrease Row):
K1, *p1, C6F, p1, k3tog; rep from * 2 times, p1,
C6F, p1, k1 = 35 sts.
Row 33: P1, *k1, p6, k1, p2; rep from *
2 times, k1, p6, k1, p1.
Row 34 (Decrease Row): K1, *p1, skp, k2,
k2tog, p1, k2; rep from * 2 times, p1, skp, k2,
k2tog, p1, k1 = 27 sts."
should read (changes in red):
"Row 32 (Cable Twist and Decrease Row):
K1, *p1, C6F, p1, k3tog; rep from * 2 times, p1,
C6F, p1, k1 = 37 sts.
Row 33: P1, *k1, p6, k1, p1;
rep from * 3 times.
Row 34 (Decrease Row): K1, *p1, skp, k2,
k2tog, p1, k1; rep from
* 3 times = 29 sts."

#80 lacy
striped crochet scarf (corrected 1/5/09):
Page 2, Stitch Gauge should be: " 2 pattern
group rep (measured from base of 1st 4-dc group
to base of 3rd 4-dc group) = approximately 4 ¾"
[12 cm], which means the finished scarf measures
52 1/4" instead of 52 3/4".
#86 fancy

Page 4, for the T-Strap, it should say:
Row 4: Ch 1, 1 sc
