New Knitting and Crochet Patterns Coming Soon!

February 27th, 2008 at 12:28pm Under Knitting and Crochet News+ Updates+ New Knitting Patterns+ New Crochet Patterns

Here are two new projects that will be written up soon for the website.

The first is this lovely, easy to wear long, shaped cardigan. It’s done from the top down (yea!), so there is only a little sleeve seaming.  The sleeves are wide, the waist is shaped with a flattering ribbed waistline, and there are two really fun gathered patch pockets in front.  A pretty vine lace panel is worked in the front and the collar is shaped and generous.

Here’s the great-looking back view:

Then, there is my new purse!  It’s crocheted in a soft cotton/microfiber blend.  LOVE the colors (matches our living room, actually!).

The front and back pieces are crocheted from the center out.  The two pieces are then crocheted together and the strap pieces are crocheted.  Notice the knotted crochet accents that gather the leather straps at the base of each silver ring.  Pretty cool, huh?

The pretty texture of this stitch inspired the whole design!

And here is a view of the great lining fabric I found!  I just loved the graphic floral print!

Crochet Lace Jacket Pattern coming soon!

Crochet Lace Jacket photo

Here’s the latest project off of my crochet hook.  I’ve been wearing it out lately and getting so many great compliments.

It’s actually crocheted from the neck down since my latest obsession are seam-free patterns!  The top half is a pretty lacey shell stitch that has subtle differences that make it different from any basic shell stitch.  The lower half is a more open crochet lace for contrast.  The sleeves are 3/4 length with a slight flare at the cuffs.

The jacket is finished with GORGEOUS horn-like buttons with faux leather stitching on the front.  An assymmetrical closure gives this jacket a beautiful look buttoned-up.  Looks great open as well.  Coming soon….

Flower Striped Scarf Crochet Pattern

The pretty striped scarf pattern is coming soon! It’s a neat crochet stitch pattern that features the “flower” stripes alternating with a lacy background stripe.  The effect is unique and wonderfully textured.  Makes for a warm and truly striking scarf!

Free Crochet Bat Pattern to Download for Halloween!

Crochet Bat Pattern Picture

Whoa!  Crochet bats??  Yup.  I admit to being a little obsessive and wanting to CROCHET something for my kid’s halloween party rather than buy all the stuff at a party store.

So, I came up with this quick and very versatile project!  Make one or make a colony of bats.  Scatter them around a table as party decor, hand them out as party favors, glue them onto hair clips, headbands, string them up as a bat mobile (ha ha, had to say that one!), or use your imagination!

They take up so little yarn… and I even included a Crochet Symbols Diagram in the pattern to make them REALLY easy to make (I hope!).

Download this pattern from the SweaterBabe.com Free Pattern Download page now.  Enjoy!
